Detroit, MI. A city known for good old fashion hard work. A city realizing an urban renewal. A city that gave the world The Motown sound, the classic rock and soul of Bob Seger and Kid Rock on to the sounds of the streets from Big Sean on to Eminem. William Big Will Elijah is making his mark.
William uses his funk blender to create what his fans would describe as Motown meets Luther Vandross meets Will Smith.
In a sea of Trap music and EDM artists, William decided to stick to his soulful musical roots with his 2017 5 -song R&B/Soul EP entitled #MusicIsWhoIAm on his Groove 360° record label distributed world wide by TuneCore. Songs made for Detroit ballroom, hustle and Chi-town stepping style dance enthusiasts.

“The title came to me after a dear friend who was fighting his own battle with cancer was consoling me during a very rough time in my life." says Elijah.
"When I was doubting my own purpose and my own earthly value he gave me a wall quote as a gift that says "Music is not what I do, it's who you I am."
"His bravery, his belief in me and that wall quote inspired me to fight thru my depression." said Elijah.
"D.I.Y.-ing this project proved to be a form of therapy." William says. "Writing, recording, mixing and mastering this project over a two year time period served as a stark reminder of what my purpose is and to remind me that no matter who or no matter what never forget to fight for yourself and what you believe!"
Months later that dear friend would pass away. "I dedicate this project to that dear friend and his family."
William says.
"When it comes to music for me and the people I relate to, it can't be overstated that we are the children of Motown and soul music." "We grew up playing real musical instruments, but listened, partied and moonwalked to drum machines, cuts, scratches and samples from 80’s, 90’s hip hop and R&B music." Sprinkle a bit of what the taste makers of today bring and you get The William Big Will Elijah sound. NEW OLD SCHOOL
"I can only write and produce what feels good to me." says Elijah. "As a dancer, If it makes my head nod and body move involuntarily, I know I'm on to something."
William's extensive musical career as a live entertainer has placed him on many stages large and small. Playing 15 seasons in the once house band for the Detroit Pistons, The Sun Messengers to fronting his own successful group Big Will & The 360° Band.
"Solely making a living as a working musician is a blessing, but being a recording artist has always been the goal." says Elijah.
In 2013, William released "Under The Influence". "This recording effort taught me what I didn't know about recording!" Jokes Elijah flashing his infectious smile and letting out a huge belly laugh.
Wiser and driven to create a documented living legacy of personal, business and musical growth, William Big Will Elijah is just getting started! Music truly is his North Star, stay tuned.
